First Time Homebuyer Education

Old Pueblo’s First-Time Homebuyer Education is a FREE, eight-hour workshop held one Saturday each month. The workshops educates and provides first-time homebuyers with the knowledge and tools necessary to purchase a home responsibly.  Homebuyers will walk away with an understanding of the ABC’s of home buying including such things as:

How to prepare for home ownership:

  • An understanding of credit scores, credit reports and topics related to building and using credit wisely;
  • An understanding of the loan process and how to select a mortgage that is right for you;
  • Working with a realtor;
  • A homebuyer’s wish list and house hunting checklist; and
  • What to do when an offer is accepted.

A glossary of terms is also included in the materials you will receive.
